 3 pm: Carpenters making staunchions for the ridge ropes of the quarter deck awning

 5 pm: Saw tropic birds – Cut off 13 fathoms the small Bower cable being too bad to [?] the anchor to – 67 fathoms remains

 7 pm: handed the mainsail In steering sails and two reefs of the Topsails – worked the pumps as usual – at 8 In Top Gallant Sails

11 pm: Squally in 3d Reefs Fore & Main Top Sails and 2d Mizen Top Sail

 1 am: Cloudy

 4 am: Moderate breeze and cloudy weather

 6 am: Out all Reefs, and set Lower Main & Top Gallant Steering sails – Saw two whales a number of flying fish and a Man of war bird

10 am: cleaned below, mustered in divisions, and performed divine service

11 am: Served the usual allowance of fresh pork and as many plantains as can be made use of

12 noon: At Noon a moderate breeze and cloudy weather – Assistant in Company
