[H M S Providence from Adventure Bay Van] Diemens Land towards Otaheite – 1792

Tuesday April 10th

 1 pm: Moderate breeze and fair weather – at 1 veered away and moored Ship with a Cable Each way – The Small Bower to the [blank] and Best to the [blank]

 4 pm: A number of Canoes along side with fruit to Trade

 7 pm: Bearing when moored, the End of the Reef N9°..30′W Point Venus N30°E the Heads of Tarra, East End S3°W West End S25°W The Extremes of the Island Morea from SWbW to S88°W High Mountain S76°W – at 6 Down Top Gallant Yards – light winds and fair weather

 1 am: Ships draught of Water Foreward 14Feet..03Inches Abaft 16..03

 4 am: Light Airs and calms

 7 am: Cleaned below

 9 am: Sent the Launch for Water

11 am: Served Bread fruit Cocoa Nuts & Fresh Pork ½ pound per Man to the Ships Company – Aired the small Sails, & unbent the Steering Sails
Broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer

12 noon: At Noon moderate breezes and fine weather
