H M S Providence from Adventure Bay [Van Diemens Land towards Otahytey]

Saturday April 7th

 1 pm: Fresh Trade and fair weather with haze

 3 pm: Saw a Mother Careys Chicken several flying fish – Armouter working at the Forge – Marines firing at a Target – People mending Cloaths

 7 pm: Worked the pumps as usual – In Steering Sails and 1st Reefs Topsails

10 pm: Cloudy in 2d Reef Fore Top Sail

 4 am: Moderate and fine weather

 5 am: Out Reefs and set Steering Sails – The same breakfast as yesterday

 8 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy – cleaned below

 9 am: Exercised Marines and Boats Crews firing with Small Arms – Krout & wort as usual
