 6 pm: Light haze increasing with Rain and thick misty weather – at 7 moderate Breeze with Rain set the Fore Sail and Top Gallant Sails

 9 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual

10 pm: Kept a fire in the Galley all night

12 mid: Fresh Breeze and Squally with Rain

 1 am: In 2d & 3 Reefs Fore Top Sail and 2d Main Top Sail

 2 am: Severe Squalls of Hail and rain – the air very cold – shortened Sail as necessary

 4 am: Fresh Gale and cloudy with flying Squalls

 6 am: Out 2d Reefs Main Sail 3 fore Top Sail, set the Main Top Gallant Sail

 8 am: The People had thick gruel and portable Soup mixed for Breakfast

 9 am: Cleaned below and aired Ship with fires, got up all wet cloaths to dry, served Krout and wor as usual – at 9 shortened Sail for the Tender – at 11 made sail – Aired the small Sails – Out all Reefs

12 noon: At Noon fresh Gale and fair weather – The People had Bore cole in the Pease for dinner
