[H M Ship Providence, moored in Adventure Bay] Van Diemens Land – 1792

Thursday February 16th

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes with heavy Squalls of Rain

 6 pm: Received the twelfth turn of water per Launch

 8 pm: Ditto Weather

12 mid: Heavy Squalls with Rain and Lightning

 4 am: Fresh Gales with Showers, employed in the holds – Shifted our wooding place and sent the parties on shore as usual

 9 am: Received the twelfth turn of wood per Large cutter and 13th of water per Launch

12 noon: Moderate breezes with Showers

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes and cloudy weather

 3 pm: Received the fourth turn of wood per Launch

 5 pm: Received the thirteenth turn of wood per Large cutter

 7 pm: Received ⅔ of a load of wood per Launch

 4 am: Cloudy with Squalls

 6 am: The people had thick gruel and portable Soup for breakfast – sent the wooders and waterers on shore as usual

10 am: Employed in the Holds

12 noon: Moderate breezes and cloudy
