Providence from Table Bay Cape of Good Hope [towards Adventure Bay Van Diemens Land]

Thursday December 29th

 1 pm: Moderate and fine weather

 3 pm: Saw a few Albatrosses and a number of Sheerwaters

 4 pm: Moderate breeze and fine pleasant weather the Swell much abated

 8 pm: Strange Sail NNE

10 pm: Light Winds, a swell from the Westward

12 mid: Fine weather – cloudy

 4 am: Ditto Weather – Strange Sail NNW – Saw some Albatrosses and a number of different kinds of Sheerwaters – Set all the Small Sails

 7 am: Unbent and shifted the Main Topsail with the old one – out Reefs

 9 am: Washed the Gun Orlop and Cockpit Decks unbent and Shifted the Foresail with the old one

11 am: Exercised the Boats Crews with small Arms – Made the Assistants Signal to come within hail

12 noon: Moderate breeze and fine pleasant weather
   'Latitude Observed 37°..36′ South
