Log &c. of H M Ship Providence from Port Praya in [the Island of St. Iago towards the Cape of Good Hope – 1791]

Saturday October 15th

 1 pm: Light Airs and pleasant weather

 3 pm: Opened a Cask of Pork No 1029 Contents 120 double Pieces

 5 pm: Saw several Sea fowl

 6 pm: Fine mild Evening with Light airs and cloudy

 8 pm: Broached a Cask of Spruce Beer for the Ships Company

10 pm: Heavy dew

12 mid: Light Airs and cloudy weather

 2 am: The same weather – all Sail set

 6 am: Cleaned below and aired Ship with fires – The People employed trimming the Hold to fill Salt water

10 am: Bent and set the Studding Sails

12 noon: Light Airs and fine weather with Haze

 All Sail set
   Latitude Observed 21°..56′ South
