Wednesday August 24th

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes

 3 pm: Sheerwaters about the Ship

 5 pm: Wind increasing – Some flying fish were seen about the Ship

 6 pm: Shortened sail for the Tender

12 mid: AM

 4 am: Fresh Gale and cloudy

 6 am: Handed the Main sail, and down Main Top Mast Staysail

 7 am: In 1 Reef of the Fore Top Sail

 8 am: A Brig in sight standing to the WSW

 9 am: Cleaned below – Employed making Mats &c.

12 noon: Hazy weather – Under single Reefed Fore & Main Top Sail [?] Main Top Sail [indecipherable]
