Tuesday August 23d 1791

 1 pm: Fair weather with a moderate Breeze

 9 pm: Fine clear night

10 pm: Shortened sail for the Tender

11 pm: rather cloudy

12 mid: AM

 6 am: Two Sail in sight [Hauling/Heading] to the Westward

 7 am: Washed the Gun deck and cleaned the Orlop Exercised the Seamen at the Great Guns and Marines at Small Arms

 8 am: Increasing Breeze

12 noon: At Noon the Assistant in Company – Both Vessels all Sail set
   Latitude Observed 35°..45′ North
