From Sheerness towards Spithead—1791

Saturday July 16th 1791

 1 pm: Light Breezes and Hazy weather

 2 pm: Tacked Ship to the Southward

 4 pm: The Isle of Wight NW 8 or 9 Leagues

 5 pm: Tacked Ship to the Northward

 8 pm: Dunnose WNW 10 Leagues Distant and Arundel NbE 6 or 7 Leagues

12 mid: Light Airs and fair weather

 6 am: Light Breezes and fair weather – at 7 [the?] Culover Clifts NWBW 4 or 5 Leagues and Chichester Spire NEbN – At 11 AM Came to an anchor at Spithead – moored Ship with the small Bower to the [?] and best Bower to the Eastward in 8 fathoms water – South Sea Castle EBN½N St. Helens point SWbW½W
