Saturday 3  Light breezes & Cloudy PM Caught a Shark & distributed [it] among the Ships Company Middle part Light breezes with rain at times at 6 AM Tacked Ship at ½ past 9 Answered the Signal to come within hail shortened sail & hove too & at 11 Spoke the Commodore & bore up at Noon Light breezes & open Cloudy Weather in Company with the Providence

Sunday 4  Light breezes & open Cloudy Weather PM People employed washing & mending their Cloaths made & shortened sail Occasionally to keep in our Station Middle part Fresh breezes & Squally with rain AM Fresh Gales & Squally took in & set Sail Occasionally at noon Fresh Gales & Cloudy in Company with the Providence

Monday 5  Strong breezes & open Cloudy Weather PM Made & shortened sail to keep in our Station AM Fresh breezes & clear Seamen Employed working up Junk at Noon Moderate breezes & fine Weather in Company with the Providence

Tuesday 6  Moderate & fine open Cloudy Weather PM carried away the Larboard Fore Topmast Studding Sail boom People employed working up Junk AM Fresh breezes & hazey saw several Birds of different Species at Noon Moderate & open Cloudy Weather in Company with the Providence

Wednesday 7  Moderate breezes & open Cloudy Weather PM made & shortened sail Occasionally to keep in our Station Middle part Moderate & Clear AM Cleaned below Aired with Fires & washed with Vinegar at Noon Moderate & fine Weather in Company with the Providence

Thursday 8  All these 24 hours Moderate breezes & fine Weather PM made & shortened Sail as necessary Sailmaker repairing the Mainsail AM Cleared away in the Fore hold & got up Provisions & Water People Employed Occasionally at Noon in Company with the Providence

Friday 9  All this day Moderate breezes & fine pleasant Weather PM People Employed making Matts Sailmaker repairing the Sails made & shortened sail Occasionally to keep in our Station AM People Employed shifting their Hammocks & washing & mending their Cloaths at Noon in Company with the Providence
