Sunday 21  Fresh Gales & open Cloudy Weather PM People employed washing & mending their Cloaths at 6 in Studding sails & 1st reef of the Topsails AM Fresh breezes & hazey at 5 out reefs & set Studding sails Served Cocoa Sugar Portable Soup Sweet Wort Bark &c Saw some Gannets Sheerwaters Swallows & a Bird like a Cape hen at Noon Fresh Gales & Hazey in Company with the Providence

Monday 22  Fresh Gales & Cloudy PM in Top Gallant Sails Studding Sails & Double reefed the Topsails AM Fresh Gales & hazey Out reefs & set Top Gallant sails unbent the Old Jib its being Split & bent the Best One Served a Gruel made of Oatmeal Portable Soup & Onions for the Ships Companys breakfast saw a number of Sheerwaters People variously Employed at Noon Fresh breezes & hazey in Company with the Providence

Tuesday 23  Fresh breezes & Cloudy PM Sailmaker repairing the Old Jib at ½ past 5 in Studding sails Top Gallant sails & Double reefed the Topsails AM Fresh Gales & Squally made & shortened sail Occasionally Sailmaker Employed as before Seamen working up Junk Saw several Sheerwaters Gannets Man of War bird &c at Noon Fresh Gales & Cloudy in Company with the Providence

Wednesday 24  Fresh Gales & Cloudy Weather PM at ½ past 1 got the Top Gallant yards on deck at 5 Struck Top Gallant masts close reefed the Topsails & took a reef in the Courses & Double reefed the Fore & Aft Mainsail AM Fresh Gales & dark cloudy Weather Out reefs of the Courses & Fore Topsail 3rd & 2nd of the Main Topsail & 2nd reef of the Fore & Aft Mainsail Fidded the Main Top Gallant mast & got up the Main Top Gallant yards Caught a number of Flying Fish on deck Saw several Sheerwaters & a Tropic bird set Studding Sails People variously Employed Served Portable Soup &c at Noon Fresh breezes & Cloudy in Company with the Providence

Thursday 25  Fresh Gales & Fair PM made & shortened sail Occasionally to keep in our Station Middle part Fresh breezes & Cloudy AM Squally with Rain at times Saw several birds at Noon Fresh breezes & Cloudy Weather in Company with the Providence

Friday 26  Fresh breezes & fair Weather PM People employed Occasionally Middle part Fresh breezes & Clear AM Served Vinegar to the Ships Company made & shortened Sail Occasionally At Noon Fine Weather in Company with the Providence
