Sunday 17  All this day moderate & fine weather PM People on board Employed working up Junk on shore the Sailmaker making a new royal Carpenter Taring & Painting the Cutter & a party wooding received on board 30 Brooms, detected William Bennett & John Wetstaff Seamen with about a pint of Spirits they had drawn out of the Brandy cask in the Fore hold, Confined them AM Employed grinding Scrapers

Monday 18  All this day Moderate & open Cloudy Weather AM Employed on Shore as before People Scraping the Ships sides & making Gasketts punished William Bennett Seaman with 18 Lashes for Theft & insolence to his superior & John Wetstaff Seaman with 12 Lashes for Theft

Tuesday 19  Fresh breezes & open Cloudy Weather PM People Employed scraping the Ships sides & making Gasketts Sailmaker on shore making a new royal Middle part Light Airs & open & Cloudy weather Latter Moderate breezes Sailmaker Employed on Shore as before Carpenter & People employed Scraping & Painting the Ships sides & Taring the bends

Wednesday 20  Light airs & open Cloudy Weather PM Employed as before & making Gasketts Painted the Guns & Swivel AM Carpenter painting the sides, sent the best Jib on shore to be overhauled People Employed making Brooms, Greased the Masts Topsail Tyes, Sheets, Tresses &c

Thursday 21  First part Moderate & open Cloudy Weather Middle part Light Airs Latter Fine breezes & clear Weather PM Carpenters painting the Stern Sailmaker on the royal & People making brooms & Gasketts AM People employed making Gaskets & a party on shore brooming received on board the new royal & a Turn of Water per Launch sent all the Old Studding Sails on shore to be repaired

Friday 22  Fresh breezes & Cloudy Weather PM a party on Shore brooming Sailmaker Employed repairing the Studding Sails People making Gasketts AM Moderate & fine pleasant weather People & Sailmaker Employed as before
