 5 am: This Morning at ½ past 10 Thomas Galloway (Lieutenants Cook) a stout able Man, departed this Life, aged 21 years, his Disorder was a Flux and he appears to have died for want of proper Nourishment.

 8 am: Exercised great Guns and Marines at Small Arms with Powder.

 9 am: Lowered the Main topsail to mend it – Saw many flying fish some exceedingly large.

11 am: Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer.

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes and cloudy Weather – Set the Main topsail.
