Flinders's Providence Logbook Dec 15, 1792

Remarks ♄ [Saturday] 15th Towards St Helena

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes & Cloudy Weather

 2 pm: Took in the Lee Studding sails

 3 pm: Mustered and took an Account of the Peoples Cloaths.

 5 pm: Made the Assistants Signal to come withing Hail – All well on board.

 8 pm: Cloudy Weather Carrying all Sail to keep the Assistant in her Station

 4 am: Dark cloudy Weather At ½ past 5 Judging ourselves to be nearly in the Latitude of St Helena altered our Course directly for it. Took in the Larboard Studding sails and set the Starboard ones. Passed a large Quantity of Fish Spawn and saw a brown Sheerwater and a Number of Porpoises.

10 am: Washed and cleaned below fore and aft. Fires in the Cockpit stoves.

11 am: Bent the Bower and Sheet Cables.

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes & Cloudy Weather
Assistant in Company.
