Flinders's Providence Logbook Dec 13, 1792

Remarks ♃ [Thursday] 13th Towards St Helena

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes & fine Weather

 2 pm: Passed a good deal of the same kind of Weed as on the preceeding Days, called Tangle or entangling Weed.

 4 pm: Ditto Weather Gunners & Carpenters painting as before.

 8 pm: Moderate Breezes, All sail set that can be cautiously carried.

12 mid: An increasing Breeze & Cloudy Weather

 2 am: Took in the Top & Top Gallant studding sails abaft, the Assistant not being able to keep way with us

 5 am: At Day break, Set every Studding sail that would draw – Passed some Weed & saw a brown Sheerwater.

 8 am: Weather Cloudy

 9 am: Got every thing up from between Decks and washed the Lower Decks fore & aft. Aired the Cockpits with Stoves.

11 am: Carpenters, Gunners, Sailmakers & People employed as before.

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes & Cloudy Weather
Assistant in Company.
