Flinders's Providence Logbook Dec 10, 1792

Remarks ☽ [Monday] December 10th H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes & fine Weather

 2 pm: Saw an Albatross

 4 pm: Ditto Weather

 5 pm: Pumps worked as usual

 8 pm: Fresh Breezes & fair Weather A log and line lost – fitted a new one.

12 mid: Fresh Breezes & Cloudy

 1 am: Took in the Main Top & Top Gallant Studding sails, the Assistant not being able to keep way with us we fine this generally the Case when going more than 7 Knots.

 5 am: At 5 Set the Studding sails again

 8 am: Moderate Breezes & fine Weather

 9 am: Washed & cleaned the Ship below fore and aft Fires in the Stoves.

10 am: Sailmakers about the old Main Topsail and Carpenters painting

11 am: A Cask of Spruce Beer broached for the Ships Company instead of Grog

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes & fine clear Sky
