Flinders's Providence Logbook Sep 21, 1792

Remarks Friday 21st Towards Island Timor

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fine Weather

 2 pm: Saw many small Grey Gulls & Boobies

 4 pm: Ditto Weather

 5 pm: At 5:40 Spoke the Assistant and made the Signal for the Boats to return – Hove to and hoisted them in – In 2nd reefs

 8 pm: Fine clear Wore Ship per Signal and continued to do so every two Hours

10 pm: In 3rd reef Main Topsail

12 mid: Ditto Weather

 4 am: Ditto Weather Hoisted out the Boats and sent them to the Assistant

 6 am: Bore away after the Assistant the Boats ahead sounding – On board our Soundings were as per Column, coase grey Sand

10 am: Set Top Gallant sails Saw Porpoises and flying fish and caught one of the small grey Gulls a delicate little Bird with black head – Out all reefs and set studding sails

11 am: Got the Best Bower anchor on the gunwhale

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes and fair Weather The Assistant and Boats ahead – No Appearance of Land or Danger
