Flinders's Providence Logbook Feb 29, 1792

Remarks Wednesday February 29th 1792 – Providence

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes & Cloudy Weather A considerable Westerly Swell

 4 pm: Sailmaker repairing the Jibb

 6 pm: Before Dark – took in all the Steering sails but the Fore Top

10 pm: Cloudy Weather some Dew falling

11 pm: Took in 1st Reef of the Fore & Mizen and 2nd of the Main topsail – In Fore Top Mast Steering sail

 4 am: At Day break Out all Reefs & set Steering sails – Saw several Albatrosses and some other Birds

 8 am: Cleaned below and aired the Cockpits with Stoves Unbent the old and bent a new Fore topsail – Carpenters repairing the Cutter Served Sweet Wort as usual

11 am: Shortened Sail for the Assistant

12 noon: Fresh Breezes & hazey Weather
