1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather with haze.

 2 pm: Opened a cask of Beef and a cask of Otaheitean Pork.

 4 pm: Sailmakers employed – worked the Pumps as usual every evening

 8 pm: Fresh breezes and clear weather in Lower steering sail

11 pm: Saw a Meteor in the SW quarter

 2 am: Squally – In Fore Top Mast steering sail, Top Gallant Sails and 2nd reef Mizen Top Sail.

 4 am: Fresh gales and squally weather.

 7 am: Served the gruel breakfast. Out 2nd reef Mizen Top sail, and set Top Gallant sails – At 8 a fresh gale and fair weather Cleaned below and aired with fires. At 9 squally with rain – shortened sail. Spoke the Assistant and found all well on board. Clewed up and mended the Fore Top sail – Unbent the Jibb to repair.

12 noon: Fresh breezes and fair – Broached a cask of Spruce beer – Assistant in company.
