Bond's Providence Logbook Jan 12, 1793

Remarks &c 12th January 1793

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fine weather

 2 pm: Squally with rain, shortened sail – Made sail again

 6 pm: Dark squalls with rain, in 1st reef Top Sails.

 9 pm: Set the Fore Top Mast Steering sail.

10 pm: Cloudy.

11 pm: Squally – in Fore Top Mast steering sail. at 12 set it again.

 3 am: In steering sail.

 4 am: Fresh gales and cloudy

 7 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for breakfast and Sour Krout for their sallads at Dinner.

 8 am: Washed all the Decks and aired with fires. Sailmakers employed – People washing and mending their clothes.

11 am: At 11 hard squalls and thick weather – in 2nd reef and clewed up the Top Sails

12 noon: At Noon strong gales and cloudy – the sun out at times. Assistant in company
   Latitude Observed 4°:32′ North
