Bond's Providence Logbook Oct 20, 1792

Remarks &c Saturday 20th October 1792

 1 pm: Fresh Gales and cloudy weather

 3 pm: Saw a flock of Man of War birds and Sheerwaters

 5 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual.

 7 pm: Dark cloudy weather in steering sails and 1st reef Top Sails. Fitted a new strop for the Fore Top Sail Tye block which had given way. Saw many Porpoises and a large Shark.

12 mid: Ditto Weather

 5 am: Fresh gale and fair weather set steering sails

 7 am: Served the usual Breakfast – Up all Chests & Bags and washed well below – Sluiced with cold water to kill the Cockroaches. Aired with Fires. Served Sour Krout – Strong Gales, in steering sails and 2nd reef Top Sails. Carpenters & Sailmakers employed as before.

12 noon: Strong gales and fair weather Assistant in company.
   Latitude Observed 12°:30′:57″ South
