Remarks &c in Providence Streights Sunday 16th September 1792

 1 pm: Fresh gales and fair weather with thick haze.

 2 pm: People washing and mending Clothes.

 4 pm: Squally – hove in to ½ Cable service. At 3 Hour.50 Minutes the Assistant anchored about ½ a mile distance, and the whale Boat came on board.

12 mid: Fresh breezes and fair weather

 3 am: At 3 swayed up lower Yards and hoisted out the Whale boat – At 6 Hour.10 Minutes weighed the Assistant and boat leading – At 30 Minutes past Tacked ship – At 6 Hour.50 Minuges the [blank] in one with the SW end of the Twins S67E, about [blank]
Served the usual Breakfast

 8 am: At 8 the Twins or Brothers S77°# about [blank]leagues distant – Saw Breakers to leeward off the Deck – Swayed up Top Gallant yards and crossed the Yards Out 3rd reef Fore and 2nd of the Main Top Sail. Set Main Top Gallant sail and made ye Assistants Signal to come nearer – At 9 Hour.30 Minutes Breakers WbS. High land in the SSW and others moderately high in ye West and SSE – very thick haze. – At 11 Twins N50E. U S83°W to West, 3 leagues. Passage Island S79W 2 leagues. Extremes of [west?] land S68W to S50W. R from S40W to S9W, High peaked Mountain on it S14W 5 miles. Q S23E – At Noon, Island off U N64W. Extremes of U N66W to N75W. Passage Island N68°W 4 miles Land Extremes from S87W to S10E. East Extremes of R an intermediate nearer Island S56W, 4 or 5 miles. High Mountain, and a nearer small Island S2W the Island distant 2 or 3 miles. Two small Islands off R S12E and S22E 4 [blank]. Three high Mountain Islands S40E, S54E, and S60E 2 or 3 leagues
