Bond's Providence Logbook Aug 17, 1792

Remarks &c towards Timor Friday 17th August 1792

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and pleasant weather – Sailmakers repairing the old Mizen Top Sail

 6 pm: Down steering Sails & in 1st reef Top Sails

 9 pm: Heard a Whale blow

12 mid: Light breezes and cloudy weather

 5 am: Made all sail – saw 2 Tropic birds

 8 am: Fresh breezes and squally; in royals – Exercised Small Arms as yesterday – Served the usual breakfast of Portable Soup Gruel

10 am: In 1st reef Top Sails – Fore Top Mast Steering Sail only set – left off brewing Spruce Beer, the consumption of water being too great

12 noon: Strong Breezes and cloudy weather with haze
   Latitude Observed 13°·40′ South
