 3 pm: At ½ past 3 the Island from S10°W to S18°W – Carpenters employed making frames for Cabin scuttles

 4 pm: Fresh breezes with thick rainy weather

 5 pm: Hard squalls, close reefed the Topsails & handed Main Sail. Lightning and thick rain – At the close of the day the sky had a threatning appearance – At 5 the Island SbE½E Up foresail. At 6 made the Signal to Tack – word ship.

10 pm: Smart showers of rain & thick weather

11 pm: Thick weather squally and heavy rain

 2 am: At 2 made the Assistant's Signal to Tack – Answered Ditto – wore ship

 3 am: Constant rain.

 4 am: At 4 the weather cleared up; saw the Barn Island bearing SSE distant 3 or 4 leagues – Fresh breezes and cloudy

 6 am: At 6 the Island bore SSE½E about 4 leagues – ½ past 6 bore up, out reefs and made all Sail

 7 am: Served the usual Breakfast of Gruel

 8 am: At 8 more clear. The Island SE½E distant about 7 leagues

 9 am: Moderate breeze and cloudy weather – Washed below and got all wet clothes up to dry – Aired ship with stoves in the 2 Cockpits – Sailmakers employed altering the Boats Sails

10 am: Served Sour Krout

12 noon: Strong breezes and cloudy weather
   Latitude Observed 18°:22′ South.
