 8 pm: Furled Top Gallant Sails

10 pm: A little squally – 3rd reefs Top Sails

12 mid: Cloudy – the Assistant ahead, having the advantage in sailing this passage.

 4 am: Moderate and cloudy

 5 am: Out all reefs and set all sails

 6 am: Saw 2 Whales, several Flying fish, and a Man of War bird.

 8 am: Moderate breezes and Cloudy

 9 am: Mustered the People in Divisions and performed Divine Service on the Quarter Deck

11 am: Served Fresh Pork and boiled Plantains to the ships company

12 noon: Less wind and close weather Assistant ahead about 2 miles and half
