Bond's Providence Logbook Jul 21, 1792

Remarks &c towards Timor 21st July 92

 1 pm: Fresh gale and very hazy weather with much sea

 6 pm: In Fore steering sail

 8 pm: Down Top Mast Steering sail, in Top Gallant Sails and 2nd reef Top Sails

10 pm: In 3rd reef Main Topsail

 6 am: Moderate breezes and cloudy out 3rd and 2ndf reefs Top Sails – Set Top Gallant Sails, Fore & Fore Top Mast steering sails – Saw 3 Tropic birds and one of the Petteral species – Lowered Fore Top sail and had it mended where split

10 am: Out 1st reef and made sail foreward. [Spliced?] the Mizen Top Sail which had give way – Served fresh Pork & Plantains as usual the Bread fruit being rotten.

12 noon: Moderate breezes and fair weather with haze. – Assistant in company – saw Tropic birds
   Latitude Observed 17°:41′ South
