Remarks &c Tuesday 3rd January 1792

 1 pm: Moderate and fair weather – a swell from the SW.

 4 pm: Exercised Great Guns and Small Arms

 6 pm: Down Steering sails.

10 pm: Very heavy swell from the SW.

11 pm: Calm.

 1 am: Light airs

 3 am: Moderate breezes sat Steering sails.

 9 am: Mended Fore Top Sail. Caulkers employed as before
Exercised boat's crews at small arms.

11 am: Sat Fore Top Sails steering sails foreward.

12 noon: Moderate breezes and fine weather Assistant in company
   Latitude Observed 37°·34′ South
