Bond's Providence Logbook Dec 27, 1791

Remarks &c towards New Holland Tuesday 27th December 1791

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and cloudy weather

 4 pm: Saw some brown Sheerwaters.

 5 pm: Punished James Coates with 12 lashes for neglect of duty.

 6 pm: Saw an Albatross.

 3 am: Light rain at times

 4 am: Sat Main Top Gallant Sail

 6 am: Sat Fore Top Mast studding sail – scrubbed Hammocks.

 7 am: Squally, down Studding sail & in Top Gallant Sails – Saw several Albatrosses and Porpoises.

10 am: In 2nd reef Top Sails – Saw a very large Shark.

12 noon: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather with a swell from the westward – Assistant in company
   Latitude Observed 36°·52′ South
