Bond's Providence Logbook Oct 9, 1791

Remarks &c Sunday 9th October 1791

 1 pm: Fine weather with a fresh breeze: saw many flying fish

 6 pm: At sun set wetted the upper Deck according to a custom followed since our entering the Tropics

 8 pm: The air cool and pleasant.

 9 pm: Fresh gale and fine weather. Struck two large Porpoises with a harpoon, but could not get them within board

 1 am: Several porpoises about the ship

 4 am: cloudy weather

 7 am: Saw several flying fish

 9 am: Fresh breezes, with rain, and squally weather. Cleaned below, and aired with fires – Mustered the ships company in Divisions

11 am: Fair weather our commander read the Liturgy of the Church to the ships company.

12 noon: At noon fresh breezes and open cloudy weather. Assistant in company.
   Latitude Observed 11°:11′ South
