Bond's Providence Logbook Sep 8, 1791

Remarks &c Thursday 8th September 1791

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather

 6 pm: Shortened sail and brought to with ship head to the westward – Sounded with 143 fathoms of line no ground – In 1st reef Top sails and made sail

12 mid: Light airs and cloudy

 4 am: Light airs and hazy weather inclinable to calm

 6 am: Light airs, out 1 reef Top Gallant Mizen Top Sails. Set the Small sails & staysails.

 8 am: Caught a Pilot fish – saw a land bird flying round the ship.

 9 am: Moderate breezes and fair weather

10 am: Employed working up Junk as yesterday. Carpenters employed as before. Sailmakers making draw Buckets – Saw many Flying-fish

12 noon: Fresh breezes and fair weather – Shortened sails
 Assistant in company
   Latitude Observed: 17°:48′ North
