16th July – From Sheerness towards Spithead

 1 pm: Light breezes and hazy weather. Tacked ship to the Southward

 4 pm: The Isle of Wight NE 8 or 9 Leagues – Arundel NbE 6 or 7 Leagues

12 mid: Light Airs and fair weather.

 1 am: Assistant in Company

 4 am: Light breezes and fair – At 7 AM. Culver Cliffs NWbW 4 or 5 leagues and Chichester Spire NEbN – At 11 AM. came to an anchor at Spithead moored with the small Bower to the Westward and the Best to the Eastward in 8 fathoms water – South sea Castle EbN½N – St. Helens point SWbW

12 noon: Light breezes and hazy weather.
