Providence Logbook Jul 8, 1793

Remarks Monday 8th July 1793 Towards England

 1 pm: Moderate and fine Weather with Haze. Saw Flying Fish and some small pieces of Gulph Weed.

 4 pm: Made the Assistant to Chase and speak a Schooner in the NE. She proved to be an American, loaded with Salt Fish and Lumber from Boston bound to St. Lucia, 10 Days out. Examined and dismissed her.

 7 pm: Exercised Great Guns and Worked the Pumps as usual.

11 pm: Lightning in the NW.

 4 am: Showers of Rain.

 5 am: Fair Weather

 7 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast as usual.

 8 am: Served Sour Krout and Vinegar for their common use.

 9 am: Exercised Great Guns and Small Arms. Those quartered to Small Arms fired. Sailmakers repairing Sails.

12 noon: Moderate and fine Weather Assistant and Ships in Company as before
 Royals and Steering Sails set.
