Providence Logbook Feb 4, 1793

Remarks Monday 4th February 1793 Jamaica

 1 pm: Moderate and fair Weather

 4 pm: Extremes of Hispaniola from N23W to N65E off Shore 8 or 9 Leagues.

 7 pm: At Sun Set the Westermost part of Hispaniola N17°W, and Southermost land in sight NEbE distant off Shore 10 or 11 Leagues.

 8 pm: Light Winds and fine Weather

 5 am: At day break saw Hispaniola ENE. A Man of War Brig to Windward of us and a Merchant Brig in the SW.

 8 am: Fresh Trade and Hazy Weather. Served Hot Breakfast as usual and Bore Cole Soup for Dinner.

 9 am: Washed below and dried with Fires.

11 am: Saw Jamaica, West.

12 noon: Very Hazy Weather. Jamaica, West, can see no part distinct.
   Assistant in Company.
