Providence Logbook Jan 8, 1793

Remarks Tuesday 8th January 1793 Towards [St. Vincents]

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes and fair Weather. Saw some blubbers and Portuguese Men of War as the Sailors call them.

 5 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and worked the Pumps as usual.

 7 pm: Committed the Body of the diseased to the Deep.

 4 am: Saw Flying Fish and Mother Careys Chicken.

 6 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast as usual.

 8 am: Up all Chests and Bags and Washed below and dried with Fires.

 9 am: Exercised Great Guns.

10 am: Sailmakers repairing the Mizen.

12 noon: Moderate and Cloudy Weather threatning Rain.
   Assistant in Company.
