Providence Logbook Jan 2, 1793

Remarks Wednesday 2nd January 1793 Towards [St. Vincents]

 1 pm: Fine pleasant Weather. Sent for Lieut. Portlock.

 2 pm: Asscension SSE½E 14 or 16 Leagues. Saw Many Gannet Boobies.
17 Leagues by the X Latitude and bearings off the Center of the Island.

 5 pm: Lieut. Portlock returned on Board. Let fresh Water into the Ship and Worked the Pumps to Ventilate the Ship.

 4 am: Saw some Gannet Boobies and Flying Fish.

 7 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner. Krout as usual.

 8 am: Mustered the Ships Company at their Quarters, & Exercised Great Guns and Small Arms, Read the Articles of War.

10 am: Served Slops, Cleaned below.

12 noon: Fine Pleasant Weather
   Assistant in Company.
