Providence Logbook Dec 9, 1792

Remarks Sunday 9th December 1792 [Towards] St. Helena

 1 pm: Fair and pleasant Gale, People employed mending and washing Clothes.

 3 pm: Saw a Whale, Some Oceanic Birds.

 5 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and worked the Pumps.

 8 pm: Fresh Gales and dark Cloudy Weather. Burnt false Fires occasionally to show our Station to the Assistant & observe hers.

12 mid: Fair Weather

 4 am: Cloudy Weather.

 6 am: Served Hot Breakfast as usual and Krout with the Pease for Dinner.

 8 am: Cleaned and Aired with Fires. Saw all Hands clean dressed. Some Thefts having been committed, searched for the Articles stolen but could not discover the offenders. Ordered all Accounts of the Voyage to be given in untill my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty should signify their pleasure, what was to be done with them.

12 noon: Moderate and Cloudy with Smooth Water. The Assistant now out Sails us.
