Providence Logbook Oct 20, 1792

Remarks Saturday 20th October 1792

 1 pm: Very Strong Trade and Hazy Weather

 2 pm: Men of War Birds and Sheerwaters, a few Flying Fish, Porpoises and a Shark.

 5 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and worked the Pumps.

 7 pm: Dark Cloudy Weather. In Steering Sails and first Reefs.

 8 pm: Fresh Gales and Cloudy Weather.

 5 am: Set Fore Topmast and lower Steering Sails.

 6 am: Served Hot Breakfast as usual.

 8 am: Saw three Gannet Boobies, a Bird of the Gull Species and several brown Sheerwaters, A few flying Fish and Albecores.

 9 am: Got all things up from below and Washed thoroughly and Dried with Fires.

11 am: Too much Sail for the Assistant. In 2nd Reefs.

12 noon: Very fresh Gale and Sea from the SE.
   Assistant in Company
