Providence Logbook Feb 26, 1792

Remarks Sunday 26th February 1792 Towards New Zeland

 1 pm: Fresh and Cloudy Weather. I now ordered a Fire to be kept in my Cabbin. The Thermometer there where is has always been shows no longer the true State of the Climate. It is in future kept on Deck

 5 pm: The Assistant being in want of some Shelter for their People I sent them one of our painted Weather Cloths, which rendered them great relief from the Wet. —

 9 pm: Saw some Species of Whale

12 mid: Dark Weather. Fires all Night to Air the Ship

 2 am: Fresh Gales and Squally in 2nd Reef of the Fore Top Sail. —

 6 am: Out 2nd Reef Fore Top Sail

 8 am: Dark Cloudy Weather served hot Breakfast of thick Portable Soup Gruel. Sweet Wort at 10 OClock, bore Cole in the pease for Dinner, & Krout a half pint per Man

10 am: Mustered & saw every person clean dressed
Saw a Cape Hen. –

11 am: Performed Divine Service.

12 noon: Cloudy Weather No observation, under single Reefs and small Sails. —
   Assistant in Company
  A little past Noon got Double Altitudes which gave the Latitude as per Column. —
