Providence Logbook Feb 7, 1792

Remarks Tuesday 7th February 1792 [Towards Van] Diemans Land

 1 pm: Strong Breezes and Fair Weather

 5 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and Worked the Pumps as usual to keep the Ship free of bad air

 8 pm: Fresh Gales and Cloudy

12 mid: Very heavy Dew

 5 am: Saw several large Fish, Species of Grampus which the South Whale Fishers call Black Fish.

 8 am: Fair Weather. Served a Hot Breakfast of Portable Soup Gruel – Sweet Wort at ½ past 10, and Sour Krout as usual. —

10 am: Bent the Cables - Cleaned below.—

11 am: In 2nd. Reefs on account of the Assistants not being able to keep way with us. —

12 noon: Fresh Gales and fair Weather with much Haze under Double Reefed Top Sail and Fore Sail. – Handed Main Sail.—
 Assistant in Company under whole Topsail & Courses -
  Some Sheerwaters and Blue Petterals.—
