Remarks in Toahroah Harbour Wednesday 28th. January 1789

Fresh Gales and hard Squalls with heavy Rain, Thunder & Lightning. Wind ENE and ESE. Thermr. 78° to 82°. Towards noon Cloudy Wr.

Employed occasionally as the weather would permitt. Much Sea in Matavai. Sent some hands to cut Wood. Sufficient supplies. Five Venereals in the List.

Very few Natives about us owing to the bad Weather. Tynah with me as usual and to please him I hauled the seine in the Evening but we only caught about 2 dozen of small fry.

Notwithstanding the wet weather my People in very good health. The temperature of the Climate is very pleasant and agreeable and not that sultry heat which is commonly met with in wet weather.
