Remarks in Toahroah Harbour Thursday 8th January 1789

Variable weather with some Rain Thunder and Lightning and blowing hard at times. Wind generally ENE. Much sea setting into Matavai Bay.

Employed making spun yarn, and began to Overhaul the Bread Room to look into the Bread and free it from Vermin. Served Slops & Tobacco to the People.

No Cannoes can yet sail for Tetturoah but as soon as the Wind is favorable Tynah promiseth me they shall go after my people.

Examined the Slops found some of them eat much by the Rats.
