Bounty Logbook Remarks, Oct. 5, 1788

Saturday, Oct. 4, 1788

1:00 pm Strong Gales and thick Weather. Small Rain.

4:00 pm Some Blue Peterels, two Pintada Birds and a few Sheerwaters.

7:00 pm Close Reefed the Fore Topsail, much Head Sea.

Sunday, Oct. 5, 1788

1:00 am More Moderate. Out 3rd Main Topsail and set Mizen Topsail.

2:00 am Out 4th and 3rd Reefs of the Fore Topsail.

6:00 am Out 2nd Reef Main and Mizen Topsail. A Tropic Bird said to be seen.

8:00 am Dark Cloudy Weather. Cleaned below and Mustered the Ships Company. Served Sweet Wort and Portable Soup as Yesterday, and performed Divine Service.

12:00 pm Fresh Breezes and Cloudy. Under Single Reefs. One Pintada Bird and some Blue Peterels.
