Bounty Logbook Remarks, Jul. 26, 1788

Friday, Jul. 25, 1788

1:00 pm Fresh Gales and Squally with bright intervals. Much Southerly Sea, which gives the ship a very violent motion.

8:00 pm Moderate & Cloudy and sea less

10:00 pm Fair Weather.

11:00 pm Out 3d Reef Main Topsail & fourth Reef Fore Topsail.

Saturday, Jul. 26, 1788

12:00 am Ditto Weather.

2:00 am Out 3d Reef Fore Topsail

7:00 am Out 2nd Reefs. Served Gruel and Portable Soup as usual. Fair Weather opened all Hatches and got all bedding, Bags & Cloaths on Deck, and cleaned and aired below. Dryed all small Sails.

12:00 pm Fine Weather. Very few Birds about. Served Mustard to the People. Ship very well cleaned and aired and every Man in good health.
