In False Bay Cape of Good Hope

Monday, Jun 2, 1788

Fair Weather & Fresh Gale. Anchored the Java a Dutch East India Man from Ceylon. Employed caulking and refitting the Rigging and in the Hold. Hauled the Seine and Caught mullett sufficient to serve all hands. Fresh Meat etc. as usual. Found the damaged Bread remaining after being most careuflly checked taking off ⅓ for Wet to amount to 7560 pounds and also 30 Bags that were laid at the bottom of the Bread Room totally rotten and unfit for any use whatever. Found two Puncheons Pork totally unfit for use the Nikle being taken out.
