Tobin's Providence Logbook Dec 11, 1792

[H M S Providence from Timor towards] St. Helena – 1792

Tuesday December 11th

 1 pm: Moderate breeze and fine weather – People as yesterday and stropping spare Top Sail Sheet blocks &c

 3 pm: Carpenters painting the Quarter Deck

 5 pm: Ditto Weather Observed a day or two past, vast numbers of small Nautili on the water

 7 pm: Fresh breezes

 8 pm: Saw a piece of Tangle weed

12 mid: Ditto Weather and cloudy

 4 am: Ditto Weather made all Sail

 7 am: Moderate breeze and fine weather served the usual breakfast – employed new stowing and blackening the larboard booms – carpenters as yesterday – employed also in the after Hold – Served out Krout – Saw flying fish the first time coming to the Northward

12 noon: Moderate breezes and clear weather
   Latitude Observed 22°..36′..50″ South
