Flinders's Providence Logbook Dec 7, 1792

Remarks ♀ [Friday] 7th Towards the Island St. Helena

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes & fine Weather Some Pintado's about and a few Porpoises about the Ship.

 4 pm: Cloudy Weather

 8 pm: Fresh Breezes a few Drops of Rain.

 9 pm: Carrying Studding sails and all possible Sail

11 pm: Obliged to shorten Sail for the Assistant.

12 mid: Fine Weather Made Sail again when she came up.

 1 am: Porpoises seen.

 4 am: Steady fresh Breeze and fine Weather

 6 am: Set the Larboard Lower Studding sail.

 7 am: Took in the Studding sails the Assistant dropping.

 8 am: Ditto Weather Saw an Albatross.

 9 am: At 9 Set Studding sails again. People scraping the Quick work of the Forecastle and the upper Decks. Carpenters painting the Pinnace and Quick work of the Quarter Deck.

12 noon: At Noon – Fresh Gale and fine Weather
Assistant in Company.
