Remarks Thursday 2nd In the South Sea

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and dark cloudy Weather with light Showers of Rain

 3 pm: Took in the Royals

 4 pm: Rainy

 6 pm: Pumps worked as usual

 8 pm: Cloudy Weather with heavy rain – In Studding sails

 9 pm: ½ past 9 Took two Reefs in the Fore and Main One in the Mizen topsail

12 mid: Moderate Breezes with small rain

 1 am: A Fire kept all Night in the Galley to air the Ship and dry Cloathes

 4 am: Fresh Breezes and Squally Weather

 6 am: At Daybreak Out Reefs

 7 am: Saw Tropic Birds and flying Fish

 8 am: Strong Breezes and dark cloudy Weather – In Top Gallant sails – Stoves set up in the Fore and after Cock pits and Fires in them to air the Ship – Boats Crews exercised at small Arms – People getting Leads and Lines prepared for the Boats – Sailmakers repairing the Main Top Gallant sail – A Cask of Spruce Beer broached and given to the Ships Company instead of Spriits
