Flinders's Providence Logbook Jul 21, 1792

Remarks Saturday July 21st H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Fresh Gale and hazey with a considerable following Sea

 4 pm: The Matilda People slinging their Hammocks

 7 pm: Before Dark In Top gallant sails and 2nd reefed the Topsails

10 pm: In 3rd reef Main topsail

12 mid: Fine open cloudy Night

 4 am: Ditto Weather

 5 am: At Daybreak Made all Sail

 6 am: Washed Decks as usual

 7 am: Saw three Tropic Birds and a Petterel

 8 am: Lowered down the Fore topsail to repair

 9 am: Set the Fore topsail and out all reefs

10 am: The Mizen topsail Tye gave way, spliced it and set the Sail again – Saw several Tropic Birds Fresh Provisions served as before

12 noon: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather The Assistant about two Miles ahead
