Bond's Providence Logbook Jan 5, 1793

Remarks &c Saturday 5th January 1793

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy – People washing and mending their clothes Saw flying-fish.

 5 pm: Squally with small rain – in Royals

 7 pm: worked the pumps as usual

 8 pm: Cloudy with small rain & Lightning.

12 mid: Squally with showers

 4 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy with light squalls of rain.

 8 am: Clear weather served thick Portable soup Gruel for breakfast Washed below and aired with fires. Exercised Marines at small Arms and fired. Sailmakers repairing Mizen Top Sail. Open a Cask of Pork & served sour Krout. Broached a puncheon of spruce beer.

12 noon: Fresh breezes and squally weather
   Latitude Observed 3°·54′ South
